Okay, so this is not my usual motif of writing journey, but I can't resist the urge to write this. It's not much though, just a short piece of story that I came up during my break. You can continue to read, or just move along. It's your choice. :D

The name is "Determination". The characters are from the game Undertale, but with a different path. Well, not so different though. If by chance you haven't played the game yet, I suggest getting a copy (contact me so I can give you the link to download) or just read the whole gameplay in the Wikia page. Or like what most of my friends do, watching people playing on Youtube.

...

The creature standing before him took one more step, towards the limp body of his. Asriel, striving to keep his head up, looked at his enemy with horror. Somehow, that beast had the power to bring him down with just one beat. Now he laid here, hopelessly begged it with his eyes. But the beast didn't seem to be wavered by the look. Instead, he took another step forward, with his big bad blade in its hand. Its red eyes stared at him menacingly. If looks could kill, it probably had kill Asriel many times though. Upon seeing the feared form of him, the beast laughed.

"Why are you so scare? I'm not doing anything yet. After all," it snickered. "it's me, your best friend."

Using his every last energy, Asriel tried to back away from the monster, only to find out that the monster was coming with a much faster speed than him. "B....back off..." he whispered. "Don't...make me...hurt you."

"You? Hurt me?" The beast burst out laughing. "Is this some kind of a joke? Are you braindead? It's me, your best friend, who's gonna kill you! Don't that ring a bell in your head? Wake up, sleepy head!"

Not until he touched his clothes did he realize he'd started bleeding. Well, he thought, this is the end for me now. It's so bad that I haven't had the chance to see everybody again. Still slowly backed away with his hands, he tried to keep his menacing face. "Run now...while you...still can."

The beast smiled. "That. The "determination". I'm impressed. Impressed by how you get this far, just to be lying dead here. Don't worry, I'll be as gentle as ever. How about I share some LOVE with you? What do you want? Some 'friendliness pellets'?"

"You...you monster..."

"Well, took it long enough." The beast sighed.

The pain in his chest started to ache. He twitched his face as the pain began to spread, and the blood from the earlier cuts had opened, allowing the blood to spill. The beast pretended to feel sorry for him, only to burst out laughing at his pathetic form. "Pathetic, right? I cannot kill even a petite monster."

"You know what's going on here, don't you?"

"Oh I sure do. Boy, you've missed a lot. All the time staying at the bottom of that pit had made you weak and sentimental. Where is the good ol' Flowey that I used to know and admire a lot? Where is that magnificent monster that I wanted to be? Where is he now? You are not the same anymore, Asriel Dreemurr. Don't know how you got so not "you" like right now, but I HATE IT!"

"So that's why you try to kill me?" Asriel smiled, knowing that he got his enemy, somehow.

"Killing you is just too easy. You can see what I can do with just a flick of a finger." The beast laughed. "Have you ever seen humans torturing each other, boy? I guess not. Let me enlighten you a bit okay." Then it crouched down, in front of Asriel. The distance between them was just no more than a few inches. "They don't kill their victims. First they will break the victims' will by killing everything they love. Their family, their friends. Everything. And when all is lost, they enjoy watching their preys go insane, and started acting crazy. And when that time's over, after "determination" turns to "despair", they will beg everyone to end their life, once and for all. Simple, beautiful, and I don't have to get my hands dirty."

"You...what are you, and what did you do to my family?"

"For your information, Asriel, I'm like you. I just do what I have to do, to make this a perfect world once again. The humans have caused us to live in the Underground. Now, it's time we do the exact same thing to them. Make them suffer, so they'll know what we had to suffer for the last centuries."

"But you know what?" It continued. "I don't care about destroying everything anymore. I'll just take your power, reset the timeline, back to before the war happened, and I can single-handedly kill every human. So none of this will happen. We don't have to hide away anymore. We will live a happy life in the surface."

"Even if I have to kill everyone that's involved."

Asriel could feel his temper losing. His body began to heat up. The pain in his chest had been nullified, for which he didn't know. The beast noticed his changed in attitude, smiled. "Easy now, boy. Don't you want to know what happened to them, the one you call 'family'?"

"Don't." Asriel merely screamed. He clenched his fists, staring at the beast in front of him.

The beast laughed. "Don't try to be heroic. There's nothing you can do right now. Your friends had been killed, your world had been destroyed. The place you call home is gone. You don't have any choice here, so just give up now. And don't worry, as a gentle-monster I am, I will offer to spare you. I know you don't have the power to beat me, no, you DON'T have any power AT ALL. So just take my kindness and go. I promise I won't kill you."

Asriel smiled. "I know what you're gonna do. Trust me, I used to be a lot worse than you. And you know what's the benefit of that? I know exactly when you'll give up. So..." He tried to stand up, his hand still tightened. "As I say before, run now, while you still can."

"You dare to challenge me, boy? You can't win this fight. So don't act so heroically, or it's gonna be your downfall, once, and for all." The beast had tightened the grip on the blade, ready to swiftly finished Asriel.

"That's your mistake there. You see, I may not have the strength like you, or powerful weapon like you, or menacing look like you. I may be a merely pathetic goat as you see. But there's something I have but you don't." Asriel stood straight, stared right at his enemy's eyes. "One human once gave me this power, the most powerful power that one can get. That is: DETERMINATION."

...

I'm just gonna stop now. That's just too much of a short. There might be a lot of "loopholes" there, but I'm still working on it. All the time I've spent for studying had finally got me. Now I can't think of anything. Darn it!

Thanks for reading, if you do read this :D
